Before you write

• About a product you bought: we cannot process refunds or check individual items. Contact the shop or the business named in the notice, using the details in the official notice.
• To report an unsafe product: contact Trading Standards through the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133 (Advice Direct Scotland on 0808 164 6000, Consumerline in Northern Ireland on 0300 123 6262).
• To report a food problem: contact the local authority where you bought the food; the FSA website explains how.
• Side effects or problems with medicines or medical devices: report them through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
• If you feel unwell: call 999 in an emergency, or NHS 111 for urgent advice.
