Summary
Product safety report for Mecmar FSN15/138T Mobile Grain Dryer presenting a serious risk of injuries as the machine can be operated with the guards removed.
The risk
The bottom cone of the drying chamber has two removable panels which act as an inspection door to allow access for maintenance and cleaning. The panels are retained in place with channels on the machine and additional bolts. The machine can be operated with the guards removed and the guards do not adequately prevent the risk of injury from contact with the moving internal stirrer arms of the grain dryer. The machine presents a serious risk of injuries from crushing and/or entanglement.
This product does not meet the requirements of The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Action taken
