Summary
Product Safety Report for Soft Plastic Alien Mask presenting a serious risk of asphyxiation.
The risk
The product presents a serious risk of asphyxiation as it does not have sufficient ventilation to comply with the requirements of BS EN 71-1 and prevent a possible restriction to airflow. The mask has a combined ventilation area of 879 mm², significantly below the minimum requirement of 1300 mm² for fully enclosed masks made from impermeable material.
If the child user were to place the mask over their head, the inadequate ventilation could restrict their airflow and lead to asphyxiation.
