What to do now

The label on Jams, Chutneys and Pesto does not tell people about the gluten and sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites it contains. For everyone else the product is safe to eat; for people with an allergy to gluten and sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites, it is not.

  1. Anyone who avoids gluten and sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites should not eat this product.
  2. Tell anyone else in the household, school bag or lunchbox chain who might reach for it.
  3. Take it back to the shop where you bought it and ask for a refund.
  4. Check other packs at home against the details below — the recall only covers the packs listed.

Why it matters. Gluten is found in wheat, rye and barley, and often in oats unless they are labelled gluten-free. It matters for people with coeliac disease as well as those with a wheat allergy.

Symptoms and when to get help

Look out for

  • an itchy, tingling mouth
  • a raised itchy rash (hives)
  • swelling of the lips, face or eyes
