What to do now

The risk with iLEPO Smart USB Charger i50 sold on Amazon is fire: a fault could cause it to overheat, melt or ignite.

  3. This is a safety report rather than a manufacturer recall: the listing has been taken down, but the seller may not contact you. Get in touch with the seller through the marketplace.

The risk

The product presents a serious risk of fire as it is insufficiently earthed. The internal construction can also allow insulation to break down, which under fault conditions can cause high voltage at the output, presenting risks of fire and electric shock.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
