  1. Put it out of use now.
  2. Check whether the notice offers a repair or replacement part before you discard it.
  3. Because the product was found unsafe on an online marketplace, use the platform’s order page to contact the seller.
  4. Report it to Trading Standards through the Citizens Advice consumer service if the seller does not respond.

Why it matters. Products that break, pinch, cut or fail suddenly can cause injuries ranging from cuts to fractures.

Getting your money back

A product safety report usually means the product was bought online and the marketplace has removed the listing. Ask the seller for a refund through the platform where you bought it; many marketplaces have their own buyer protection.

If you paid by credit card and it cost over £100, Section 75 may apply; otherwise your bank may be able to raise a chargeback.

Summary

Product Safety Report for Multi-Functional Blender presenting a serious risk of injuries.

The risk

The product presents a serious risk of injuries as the blades could still be spinning and accessible when the processor is open. The consumer may be able to place food into the processor while the lid is removed and injure their hands.

The product is also fitted with a counterfeit and underweight fuse. A correctly rated fuse is required to ensure the safe operation of the plug under fault conditions, and its absence could lead to the plug overheating and/or exploding. Improvements are also required to product documentation and marking.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
