What to do now
Beef 80/10/10 Raw Frozen Dog Food is being recalled because of Salmonella. The bacteria cause an unpleasant stomach illness for most people and a more serious one for the very young and the very old.
- Stop using it now and keep it away from ready-to-eat food.
- Hands first, then worktops, boards and knives: Salmonella moves on contact.
- Take it back to the shop where you bought it for a full refund, or throw it away if you prefer. You do not usually need a receipt.
- If you froze some or put it into another container, check those portions too.
Why it matters. Salmonella usually causes diarrhoea, stomach cramps and a temperature that start within a few days of eating. Freezing does not kill it, and raw or lightly cooked foods carry the highest risk.
