The risk

The product poses a high risk of burns because it presents a hazard of fire /explosion and electric shock due to poor construction/design. The product does not meet the requirements of the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994 because the BS1363 fuse had been modified with a piece of wire soldered onto the outside of its casing, which bypassed the fuse’s function and provided no over-current protection.
